Brief History on Lusada
Narrated by Chief Taofeek the Aro (chief appointer) of Igadoh Orile Lusada.
Lusada originated from Igadoh in
the land of Igbesa. They were the heads of the kingmakers from Ipetu in Igbesa;
all the quarters in Igbesa had farmlands with the general name Igadoh.
The land of Lusada was then a
farmland stretching from Igbesa down to western parts of the current Lusada
community.
They farmed the lands till Oba
Samuel Olushola agreed for the development of the area now known has Lusada and
requested for the Baale of the newly formed location.
The name Lusada originated from
the contractors that constructed the Atan-Agbara road long before the
declaration of the newly formed settlement.
The first Baale was later crowned the first
king (Oba). His name was Chief Abdulwahab Itu in the year 2002.
The central settlement of Lusada
is known as Igboko Orile where the king resides till his demise.
There are different Igboko clans
which are Igboko Opebiyi, Igboko Nla, and Igboko Orile with each having her own
Baale.
Due to the major occupation of
the indigenes and the influence from a very good and accessible road, n lusada
grew to be a centre for trading activities giving the locals the platform to
showcase their farm products and of course help other traders from far and wide
to advertise their products and bringing different shoppers all over the neighboring
towns to lusada.
Traders come from neighboring places like Atan, Agbara, Badagry, Cotonou, Idiroko, Igbesa, Lagos, Mile2, Okoko, as far as Ibadan and even northerners make use of the opportunity to sell their goods and services.
Due to current development construction of a
six-lane road of 1 kilometers and a 600 meter bridge on the Atan-Agbara federal
road, there is without doubt that the market would be once again open to trading
which had subsided due to damaged trade routes leading to higher cost of
transportation which constituted to the constant source of loss to the traders
and motorist plying the axis. Lusada is every much open to development and as
such still require the building of a central clinic or hospital, good water
system, town hall etc.
Welcome to Lusada
